Where We Started
Now, imagine it’s 2015- the options for healthy mineral-based suncare are few and far between. Enter Bare Republic. Bare was born when we realized the search for clean suncare that would keep up with all our adventures was coming up short. In a mineral-deprived market, we sought to create a mineral-focused brand that would keep us, and our environment, protected.
So, why mineral? Well, the answer was simple- we wanted to offer healthy physical protection that would keep you protected no matter the adventure. Need a little refresher on mineral suncare? We’ve got you covered! Mineral sunscreen works by reflecting the UVA and UVB rays with a layer of physical active ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
With thoughtfully formulated ingredients made from the Earth, our initial line of mineral suncare was born. Quick shoutout to our Mineral SPF 50 Body Sunscreen Lotion, which has been with us from the start! This product continues to be one of our most-loved products and served as the blueprint of our heritage scent “Vanilla-Coco”. As we continued to widen our mineral horizons, we also broadened our application horizons as we offered mineral sun-protection in spray, lotion, and stick formats.
Where We Have Gone
As the years went on, it became difficult to ignore the fact that chemical sunscreen continues to be preferred among a majority of consumers. As a brand that has always offered the mineral alternative- we understand the challenges that mineral sunscreens present, and the benefits that chemical sunscreens can offer. Enter our Clearscreen collection. With the same promise as our mineral line, our Clearscreen lotions and sprays are free of unwanted chemicals, such as parabens, phthalates, and always benzene free so you are free to adventure safely! Our Clearscreen collection goes on transparently and leaves a non-greasy feel. But does it still protect as well as mineral can? The two work differently, as mineral physically repels the sun’s rays, chemical sinks into skin and absorbs the UV light so your skin does not. Both still offer the sun protection your body needs every day!
Where We Are Going
