After a long day of lathering on our Mineral Body Sunscreen Lotion, your skin needs a little TLC! We are always looking for ways to care for our skin, and let's be honest– Suncare IS self-care. 🙌 We are picky about what we put on our skin, which is why we want to share how to make this organic body scrub at home!
How to Wash Off Mineral Sunscreen  Â
We frequently get asked, “how do you wash off mineral sunscreen?” Since mineral sunscreens, aka “physical sunscreen,” sits on top of the skin, it requires more than just soap and water to rinse off thoroughly. The two main ingredients we used to make the scrub were Organic Sugar Cane and Unrefined Coconut oil. Organic Sugar Cane will gently exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells and leftover sunscreen residue. At the same time, coconut oil will break down the minerals (zinc oxide and titanium oxide) and hydrate the skin. Pro tip: When selecting coconut oil, make sure it is unrefined– this will ensure that the oil does not contain any traces of unwanted chemicals! Â

DIY Coconut Body Scrub Â
What you’ll need:  Â
+ Measuring cup or scale  Â
+ 65g Organic Sugar Cane Sugar Â
+ 85g Unrefined Coconut Oil   Â
+ Airtight Container  Â
+ Optional: Lemon and Lime zest (for an added natural scent)Â
 Â
Step 1: First, add your sugar to the airtight container. Â
Step 2: Next, pour the coconut oil over the sugar –make sure the oil is liquified before adding it into the container. If the oil is solid, you can leave the jar in the sun to melt a bit before adding it to the sugar!Â
Step 3: Then, Mix the two ingredients– Add in more sugar or oil if needed until a “paste” has formed.Â
Optional: Zest lime and lemon for an added natural fragrance! Â
 Â
After mixing all the ingredients, apply to the body in circular motions and rinse off with warm water. Store the leftover scrub in an airtight container for up to two weeks!  Â
