FOLLOW ALONG OUR ADVENTURE!
#GOBAREOUTSIDE
Bare Republic’s Marketing Coordinator, Jai Manatt here! I finally got the pleasure of adventuring out to one of our partner’s Under Canvas glampsites in The Grand Canyon. If you haven’t heard of Under Canvas yet put it on your radar for 2020 NOW. Most of the glampsites shut down during the winter and reopen in the spring, however, if you have some free time this fall head out to Zion as they are open until December 1st, 2019!
Follow along my adventure to see why Under Canvas should be on your bucket list.

“Happy, well-rested glampers wake to sounds of nature, perfectly positioned to explore America’s most iconic national parks and monuments.”
At Under Canvas you get to “Immerse yourself in the great outdoors without forgoing the comforts of home.” This I found to be exceptionally true. It was a time that I was able to get back to nature as they have no WiFi and encourage reconnecting with the great outdoors. However, we also enjoyed the comforts of home under their safari-style tents that provided clean towels and bedding.

The staff at Under Canvas were very helpful prior to and on our arrival. We were able to book an excursion through them to raft Antelope Canyon. Other tours they can connect you with at the Grand Canyon are:
Helicopter Tours
Horseback Riding
Jeep Safaris
Hiking Tours
Whitewater Rafting
Mountain Biking Tours & Rentals

During the day, we were able to visit the park located only a half an hour away from the campsite. We were given helpful advice on which hikes to do and were even told about a “secret spot” to watch the sunset over the Grand Canyon. If you visit this park be sure to check out Shoshone Point on Desert View Dr. at Mile Marker 244. It is a short 2 mile nature walk from the parking lot. At night, we headed back to Under Canvas to enjoy healthy dinner options, complementary smores and live music beneath the stars.

September was a perfect time to visit the Grand Canyon as the sun was shining but it wasn’t too hot during the day or too cold at night. Just remember to pack your Bare Republic Mineral SPF 50 Sport Sunscreen Lotion. Fall was also perfect because the crowds were more mild than the busy summer months.

At Under Canvas their “development approach serves to protect and preserve our environment.” They also had showers where you would pull a chain and low flow toilets that use 87% less water than similar hotels. You could also purchase eco-friendly brand partners’ reusable water bottles and Bare Republic’s Reef-Friendly* Mineral SPF in their gift stores. *(Hawaii Reef Friendly Sunscreen Oxybenzone & Octinoxate Free)
